What's going on in there?
UNIVERSITY HONOURS PROJECT
2021
‘What’s going on in there?’ is a guided journal that I created for my university Honours project. It aims to empower women as they navigate life after being diagnosed with ADHD as a young adult. Understanding who they are and how their brain works is the key to unlocking unapologetic self-acceptance.
Jam-packed with information, guided questions, plenty of scribble space, and sprinkles of validation throughout, this journal enables the user to gain an understanding of how the invisible workings of the ADHD brain affect them personally. Designed for the non-linear ADHD brain, this journal can be picked up, put down, started anywhere, and at any time. There are plenty of fun and colourful visuals to keep the ADHD brain engaged along the way.
This journal is not a solution for “curing” the ADHD brain. It aims to enable the user to let go of trying to adhere to neurotypical standards and love themselves for who they are. By understanding and accepting themselves, they can learn to work with their ADHD brain instead of against it.
